Brief biography
Oleg A. Gorbachyov graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physics at Irkutsk State University named after A.A.Zhdanov (1982), with a degree in Radiophysics and Electronics. Starting from the third year, he was a Lenin scholarship holder at the Faculty of Physics.
After graduation, he worked as an engineer and a junior researcher at the Research Institute of Applied Physics at Irkutsk State University.
In 1988, he completed full-time postgraduate studies at ISU and was appointed an assistant at the Department of Higher Mathematics at Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute.
In 1990, he defended his thesis for the degree of Cand. Sci. (Physics and Mathematics) on the topic: "The influence of the ring current on the thermal regime of the Earth's plasmosphere and ionosphere".
In 1995, after writing a series of educational and methodological works on the study of various sections of higher mathematics, Oleg A. Gorbachyov was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor at the Department of Higher Mathematics of IrSTU.
In 2002, he joined Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, Irkutsk Branch, as Head of the Department of Aircraft Radio Electronic Equipment. In June 2003, he was appointed director of the branch.
In 2009, he defended his thesis for the degree of Dr. Sci. (Technology) on the topic: "Navigation support for civil aircraft in conditions of disturbed ionosphere".
In March 2013, Oleg A. Gorbachyov was appointed Vice-rector of MSTU GA for work with branches (part-time).
In May 2013, Oleg A. Gorbachyov was awarded the academic title of Professor at the Department of Aircraft Radio Electronic Equipment, Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, Irkutsk Branch.
He heads the research project "Improving the positioning accuracy of satellite navigation systems." He is the author of 80 scientific papers.
He teaches a course of lectures in the disciplines of "Higher Mathematics" and "Satellite navigation and ATC systems". He is the author of 22 educational and methodical works.
