Brief Biography
She graduated from the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature of the Herzen Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute. She worked as a teacher of Russian language and literature, then as an assistant and later Associate Professor at the Department of Primary Russian Language Teaching Methodology at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. She served as Head of the Department of Children's Literature, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of General Education, Professor at the UNESCO Chair "Education in a Multicultural Society", and Professor at the Department of Primary Education Pedagogy and Child Artistic Development at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. She has delivered lecture courses at universities in Arkhangelsk, Barnaul, Kursk, Saratov, Cherepovets, Ulan-Ude, and Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan).
She is the developer and head of four Master's degree programmes: "Children's Literature and Organisation of Children's Reading", "Literary Education of the Child", "Humanitarian Technologies of Cultural and Educational Work with Children in the Mass Media", and "Communication Technologies in Education".
Academic Activity
She has published over 250 academic and methodological works, including nine monographs, a textbook and study guides for higher education institutions, as well as textbooks for grades 1-4 of primary school: "ABC", "Literary Reading", and "Russian Language". She is the Coordinator of the "School of Dialogue" project (series founded by the Prosveshcheniye Publishing House in 2021). She is the Academic Supervisor of the Federal Innovation Platform "Electronic Teacher's Book 'Steps of Growing Up, or a Dialogue-Based Approach to the Formation of Traditional Russian Values at the Primary Stage of Education'" (commenced in January 2025). She has served as Academic Supervisor for four successfully defended Candidate's dissertations and one Doctoral dissertation.
She is a member of the Academic and Methodological Council of the All-Russian Public Organisation "Association of Teachers of Literature and the Russian Language". She serves on the editorial boards of the following journals: "Bulletin of Orenburg State Pedagogical University" (online scientific journal, since 2012) and "Space of Pedagogical Research" (since 2024)
