Short biography. In 1996 she graduated from Rostov State Pedagogical University with a degree in Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology. Since 1996 she has been working at the Stavropol State Pedagogical Institute and now is the Head of the Department of Theory, History of General Pedagogy and Social Practices. In 1998 she defended her his Candidate of Sciences (PhD) thesis on “Pedagogical Conditions for the Development of Musical and Aesthetic Empathy in Older Preschool Children” at Rostov State Pedagogical University. She was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor on April 21, 2004. In 2010 Alexandra V. Shumakova defended her doctoral dissertation at Astrakhan State University titled “Designing an Integrative Educational Space for a Pedagogical University (in the System of Ensuring the Quality of Teacher Training)”. On March 18, 2011 the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation awarded Alexandra V. Shumakova the academic degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (13.00.08 – Theory and Methodology of Professional Education). Alexandra V. Shumakova has more than 300 scientific and educational publications, she is the author and co-author of 10 monographs, 12 educational and methodological manuals, 35 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals (listed by the Higher Attestation Commission), and 3 articles in Web of Science. She is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in the section of Pedagogical Sciences. She is a member of 3 Dissertation Councils. Alexandra V. Shumakova is an opponent and reviewer of dissertations, monographs, textbooks, and teaching aids. Her scientific achievements have been published in the online encyclopedia “Scientists of Russia”. She systematically improves her knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogical science and enhances her qualifications. She participates at congresses, symposiums, and scientific conferences of various levels; conducts extensive social and educational work; takes part in scientific and methodological seminars, scientific and methodological commissions; and organizes and conducts conferences, round tables, master classes, olympiads, and contests. She is the head of regional innovation platforms (“Teachers Training for the Creation of a Safe and Developing Educational Environment” in 2020, “Teachers Training for the Formation of a Civic and Patriotic Attitude in the Young Generation through the Development of National Identity and Strengthening of Civic Awareness” in 2023). She has received awards for the best scientific books and educational materials for her participation in international and national competitions.
