Methodological peculiarities of using authentic audio materials to improve phonetic skills at foreign language lessons in primary school

The paper deals with the formation of students ‘ pronunciation skills. The content of teaching phonetics and the methodology of using authentic audio materials (audiobooks, podcasts, radiobroadcasts) in foreign language lessons in primary school are clarified. The achievements of methodological science in the aspect of pronunciation training are briefly presented.

The phonetic skill is considered through the prism of the dispute on the possibility/impossibility of its approximate formation in primary school in a non- language environment. The author proves that it is possible to master the skills of correct pronunciation in everyday educational practice, provided that authentic audio materials are used.

Linguodidactic potential of creolized texts

Creolized texts are not only a convenient form of information transmission, but also a new way of learning it. Creolized text is a text consisting of two different parts, namely verbal and non-verbal, which cannot exist separately from each other. Due to the involvement of verbal and non-verbal phenomena in the creolized text an additional semantic work is involved as certain background knowledge is used, which students refresh when reading the text.

The paper reviews the use of these texts in the educational process that makes it possible to reduce the level of fatigue in students, to control their attention due to the change of activity. Visual elements in the text enhance the impact and attract attention, as well as create an emotional image of what one reads. The paper underlines the fact that the process of learning the educational material becomes more productive. Students have a sensual image of the studied material, which is directly related to the work of auditory and visual analyzer and thus is especially important in learning foreign languages.

Creolized texts in a foreign language lesson represent a source of lingua-cultural information, as well as a means by which it becomes possible to form the lingua-cultural competence of students. Creolized texts are able to reflect the worldview and values, which represent a socio-cultural aspect of learning a foreign language.

The peculiarities of speaking teaching at foreign language (Italian language) lessons in the 9th form of the comprehensive school

The article deals with the issues of speaking teaching of the pupils in the 9th form of the comprehensive school in Italian. The linguistic and extralinguistic features of the teaching of Italian language to the senior schoolchildren are described and their classification is compiled as well. The analysis of grammatical discrepancies between Russian and Italian languages is carried out.

Using brititshcouncil materials for teaching college students reading in English: work experience

Interaction between a foreign and native languages in the process of teaching English grammar

The phenomenon of a «socialization of a language» is described on the basis on the phylogenesis [phylon + genetikos. Greek]. The authors of this article regard the category of a language in the connection of the following notions: a social phenomenon, an individual personal co-knowledge, foreign culture, basic language functions.

The peculiarity of marking the fragmented reality using verbal and nonverbal means is defined by cultural / social / political differences between nations, population, communities and so on. It is a cluster of a universal and individual experience.

The typology of interaction between a native and foreign languages in the process of communication is presented in the article. This typology can be used to create technologies to teach students using different English Grammar phenomena.

The practical part is based on some psychological traits, defining the mental peculiarity of contemporary teens. Their perception of the environment and the ability to analyse the information is marked by a special term «a clip thinking».

The theoretical aspect of the article is the basis to teach students to understand the peculiarity of marking fragmented reality using the following Grammar Tenses: Present Continuous, Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous and further using these Grammar means in foreign communication.

Time for change in foreign language education: problems and solutions

The article is devoted to the study of the urgent problem concerning foreign language education in the conditions of development of intercultural relations, intercultural communication, cooperation. It shows the vital need for new approaches to the training of future foreign language teachers in connection with the rapid processes of globalization, informational support, technologization, intercultural communication. Long-term theoretical and empirical research of the author, confirmed by the figures and data of surveys and professional observations allowed to conclude that there is a need to change the system of training of foreign language teachers to meet the new challenges of education, to make this system not subject-oriented, but professional as well as cultural-oriented.
