Approaches to translations of russian classics into japanese

Abstract. This article is devoted to studying the issues of approaches to translation of literary texts from Russian into Japanese. The research is based on complex methodology, combining the studies of linguistic, literary as well as functional-communicative approaches to translation. Comparative analysis between the original text and translation, contextual and interpretative methods of analysis, applied for Russian classics and the translations into Japanese, reveal the issues and problematic aspects of adequateness and effectiveness of translation, allow to set translation standards of literary texts. Meanwhile, it is necessary to give grounds for combined, variable, flexible approach to translation quality assessment according to the specifics of literary works: accuracy of rendering the writing style, essence and vibes of Russian classics, taking into account background knowledge, compliance with grammar and stylistic norms of the Japanese language.

Naturocentrism in the japanese value worldview (on the example of the value dominant «Nature»)

Abstract. The paper is devoted to the research of «Nature» as a key dominant in the Japanese value worldview. The purpose is to identify the explication of dominant in the textbook «Our Morality» ((私たちの道徳 /watashi-tachi no do:toku/) for elementary and secondary school students. The relevance of the paper is due to the interest of linguacultural modeling of worldviews of individual cultural communities. Practical novelty is the methods of linguacultural analysis are applied to describe the value dominants of the Japanese linguacultural. In the course of the study, more than 350 lexical units were identified by the continuous sampling method. The lexeme-representant of the studied value dominant was revealed, the ways of its linguistic and lexical-semantic representation were analyzed. Multimodal analysis revealed a number of value indicators, expressed by both linguistic means and visual components. The conclusions can be of interest to the experts in the field of Japanese studies, axiolinguistics and linguacultural studies.

The reflection of cultural specificities and differences in the interpretations of chinese basic characters

The article concerns with approaches to the interpretation of Chinese basic characters by Xu Shen and by a number of modern linguists. There is realized comparative analysis of interpretation of basic characters in the “Shuo wen jie zi” dictionary and interpretations based on new linguistic information. It attempts to make a complex analysis of diachronic and synchronic interpretations through the prism of Ancient China’s cultural specificities.

Mistakes of russian students learning chinese pronunciation and possible solutions

Pronunciation teaching is the most basic and the earliest content of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, so the quality of pronunciation directly affects the interest of students in learning Chinese and the quality of Chinese pronunciation in the future. This article mainly analyzes the errors that Russian students are prone to when learning Chinese pronunciation and the reasons for the errors, trying to find some solutions for Chinese pronunciation teaching, and hoping to improve Russian students’ ability to learn Chinese pronunciation. The article seeks to provide some help and inspiration to reduce their mistakes in learning Chinese pronunciation.

Gender features in the formation of chinese characters

The uniqueness of Chinese writing, the stages of its development and the ways of forming character allow researchers to penetrate through the history and find the influence of multiple factors on the formation of a “special” Eastern (Chinese) picture of the world. There is no any need to decipher ancient written signs; it opens a direct and maximal objective path to understanding the underlying processes on which Chinese society is based.

Translinguographic translation as a method of the expert translation (basing on the translations of “Shan Hai jing” and “Erya”)

The article substantiates translinguographic translation as a method used in the expert translation of texts in the language written with ideographic writing system. The examples from the translations of the treatise “Shan Hai Jing” and the first ancient Chinese Dictionary “Erya” prove that translinguographic translation provides information content and authenticity of the original text in the translated text.
